Cristian F. Chavez Tapia

Cristian's undergraduate degree was in Industrial Mechanical Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (1999). After working a few years in an industry, he earned a MBA degree from Tulane University (USA). While working as a part time professor, he came back to the classroom to fulfil his dream of become a space scientist.
He obtained a Master of Science degree in Astronomy from Swinburne University, Australia (2011), and now is studying for a PhD degree in Astronomy at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia.
His main research interests are minor bodies in the Solar System, astrodynamics, small satellite dynamics, CubeSats, and CanSats.
He is the founder of the Minor in Fundamentals of Aerospace Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (2013). Regarding his teaching activities, he has been professor of Dynamics of Mechanical Systems, Vector Mechanics and Astronautics units for more than 10 years.
