Dr. Mohammad Madi

Dr. M. Madi is a business developer, innovator, and entrepreneur with expertise in the field of space and emerging technologies. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Space Technologies and PhD in compact optical instrumentation for space applications from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Dr. Madi participated in development processes of various space missions as lead R&D engineer or project manager. His work experiences extend to the Swiss Space Center (2011-2012), a Swiss SME serving the European space market (2012-2018), European Space Agency ESA-ESTEC (2016), and the EPFL Space Center (2019-). He provides consultation, strategic advice, and market development support to entities active in the field of space technologies including venture capitals, start-ups, non-governmental organizations, research institutes and contributes to their efforts to align policies with the latest market/technology trends. In 2019, Dr. Madi founded Sirin Orbital Systems AG aiming at providing on-orbit servicing solutions to the commercial space sector in response to the new demands of emerging space market. M. Madi is additionally leading the business development activities of the EPFL Space Center by developing new projects on the thematic "Sustainable Space Logistics", and building partnerships with Swiss and international industries, space agencies and research laboratories, to extract competencies, find synergies and establish cooperative projects.
